Silver winner, Best Film Promo at Promax UK 2011 awards

Turner Classic Movies asked us to create an image spot to highlight the great variety of films shown on the channel.

The film was going to run across all their territories and as they show different content we we’re not able to use any film footage or clips.

Rising to the challenge we decided to explore the core of the channel…film…literally.

Going back to basics we started playing with the idea of animating a 35mm film strip in 3D and letting it find, outline and reveal classic movie scenes from King Kong to Jaws, Titanic to the Matrix. It was important to show the broad range of film shown on the channel and dispel the myth that TCM only shows B/W films.

We then briefed our composer to score a music track, which hinted at the famous scores of the individual films.
